Huge announcement from Meta, NFTs are going mainstream

We’re delighted to announce that one of our latest features, the NAKAPUNKS NFT collection, will soon be available for purchase on Instagram following an exciting press release from Meta.
The NAKAPUNKS is a collection of 10,000 NFTs, each showcasing a unique selection of physical attributes and rarity indicators. On top of the market value of the NFT, holders are treated to a NAKAVERSE land asset valued at $500, a share of the Nakamoto Games profit pool, and exclusive membership into the Satoshi Gaming club.
Soon, holders will be able to bring their unique pixelated punk to one of the largest social media sites in the world. Big tech giant Meta recently announced that users would soon be able to purchase ‘digital collectibles’ from their favorite personalities directly on Instagram.
Instagram has made an end-to-end toolkit for creators to design, showcase and trade their NFTs. Additionally, established collections such as the NAKAPUNKS will be made available on the marketplace by integrating data from Opensea such as titles and descriptions.
The company is beginning the operation with the Polygon network which just so happens to be the home of the NAKAPUNKS. Soon, NFT trading on Instagram is set to be highly interoperable, featuring several prominent blockchains.
The new features are currently only available to a small group in the United States, but Meta has plans to expand to more countries soon. The move is certain to exponentially increase the adoption of digital assets. It provides a seamless avenue to begin NFT trading on a platform containing a mainstream audience of over 1.2 billion users, many of which have little to no knowledge of blockchain technology.
However, Meta has done everything it can to accommodate the new audience. Firstly, there will be no gas fees until 2024, enticing new users to try out the free service. Secondly, fiat currency and mainstream payment methods will be accepted for NFTs on Instagram. This ensures people can test the Web3 waters without jumping into the deep end.
Soon, the online world will be able to easily support their favorite creators by buying NFTs directly from them on Instagram. Meta deserves a lot of credit for believing in web3 and having the courage to bring it to their mainstream audience.
